Kidney Stones

These are typically calcium oxalate stones, though other minerals can sometimes result in stones. Kidney stones range in size, from small, sand-like grains up to 5mm (3/16 inch) and even sometimes even larger. Kidney stones develop when waste products in the urine partially breakdown and clump together over time.
Kidney stones may be found in the kidneys, as well as the ureter (tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder), urethra (the vessel through which urine passes after leaving the bladder), and vesical (bladder).
